At the year end, BSNL has offered its customers to use CLI based dial-up Internet connection without any charges until this year. This is the company’s ‘account-free‘ Calling Line Identification (CLI) based ‘Net One’ dial-up internet service. This means, if you use a BSNL landline, you need not pay anything to get started on the internet. You need not pay anything like Internet charges but only the Local call charges as per your plan. To start surfing, you need BSNL Landline connection and follow the given steps.
- Connect your telephone jack to the modem of your PC or laptop.
- Initiate a dial-up connection with the access code 172222.
- Enter a username (STD code without zero + your telephone number), followed by a password of your choice.
Once you’re connected, you will be charged only for the local calls – Pulse rate@450 seconds from 0730-2230 and 900 seconds from 2230-0730.
Also, if you want to check your usage, you will need to register you phone on respective CLI service website. The internet access is also available without registration also. However to view usage details the registration is mandatory. Detail of First-time registration is available on respective websites.
