DirectX 11 for Windows 7 and Vista
DirectX as defined on Wikipedia is a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for handling tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming and video, on Microsoft platforms. DirectX 11 is next generation graphic accelerator available for Windows 7 and Vista platforms.
DirectX 11 provide access not only to enhanced support in hardware for common 3D rendering functions, those which take a portion of the burden away from 3D video drivers and move it onto the GPU itself, allowing for faster operations, easier coding and an improved visual experience, but also access to GPU compute abilities.
Direct3D 11 will prove to be a more important page in the history of the API than version 10 was. While Direct3D 10 was a complete revision, with all the risks that entails, Microsoft has now put enough distance between it and this new version to correct the problems raised by the first major overhaul of its API.

DirectX11 is present in Windows 7 by default.
@Mayur, Yeah thats correct but atleast Vista users can have it. Also, Do you have any idea if there is DirectX 11 present in previous leaked releases before Windows 7 RC1 ?
its crazy how 3d technology is taking off. they now have touchable 3d and they are coming out with 3d screens that you dont need glasses for. crazy stuff. i still feel its a bit of a gimmick however.
