GIMP 2.6.4 Image editor portable version
GIMP is a popular image editor for Windows which s a freely distributed program for tasks like photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.
Here is the portable version of this program so you can take your images with you and do your editing on the go anywhere. Installation involved a simple automated uncompression of the files. There are no disadvantages to running the GIMP in this way and any changes made to preferences are saved. In fact, it is even possible to copy settings from an existing installation of the GIMP to this portable version.
On the positive side, the software has all the features you would expect, along with some rather unusual brushes. It can even make use of Photoshop plugins. It supports more file formats than any other image editor out there, but it does have a fairly high learning curve. If you want professional features for free, then The GIMP is a good bet.
