Firefox RC3 For Maemo with Increased Page Load Speed

Firefox has released Rc3 for Maemo platform. This release comes with many bug fixes and added features that will take you through a new experience. Some of the important improvements in this release are, increased page load speed,responsiveness, zooming and panning have been made better. Other features as listed in the official Release note are below:

Plugins Are Disabled

Plugins like flash player have been disabled to gain user experience as web pages with multiple plugins enabled were degrading the overall performance. It is known from Mozilla that they are trying to give users the control to decide on which site they want to use the plugin and this feature will be given as an add-on. Users can still enable the plugin feature for testing purposes.

Added Features Of Desktop Firefox

The new release also adds some features of the desktop version. Some of the additions are the Awesome Bar, this bar is accompanied with Weave Sync so that you can access the web history of Firefox on PC to your phone.

The touch screen interface has also been improved, when pages are loaded you get a full screen view of the page as the Awesome bar disappears and can be brought back again by touching the sides. You can also double tap on the screen to quick zoom and repeat it to zoom out.It also provides thumb nail preview of the tabs.

It also includes add-on support and you can get recommended addon’s to increase your productivity and comfort. Now you can store passwords, manage security options, download with download manager, and work fluently with spell checker. This will definitely be liked by users due to the added advanced features and improvements.

Firefox RC3can be downloaded by Nokia N900, N810 and N800 users. Users already having the RC2 will get an update.
