Fly B430DS: QWERTY Keypad, Dual SIM Mobile Phone at Rs 3490
Fly Mobiles have recently launched an unbelievable model B430DS in Indian market. This model has every thing we can wonder. The most interesting thing is it’s price of Rs 3490. It is a dual-sim qwerty keypad phone mostly targeted at youngsters. This phone comes bundled with a lot of software packages that will give you a new experience of social networking. This phone bundles a 2.2 inch QVGA TFT screen with 262k color support. It is provided with a 1.3 mega pixel camera which supports recording and playback and acts as web camera. It can provide upto 9 hours of talktime.
Software Platform
This is a field to be spoken of. It features Nimbus, Skype, Windows Live Messenger, GTalk, Yahoo!, ICQ, MySpace, AIM and other clients. In addition to these it it also packs Snaptu using which you can easily connect to Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, Google Calender and Picasa. Hardware Features
It is bundled with bluetooth and also acts as a phone modem providing GPRS/WAP/MMS support. It has an internal memory of 10 MB, but can be expanded to 8 GB. It also supports 3.5 mm audio jack to expand your music experience and a mobile tracker with remote control. USB charging is a remarkable feature.

It will be available in all metro and non metro cities and also in all towns.
My Verdict
This phone has attracted my attention a lot, though it lacks few features like a good display screen and camera and even is not very appealing in looks. But the price at which it comes is very handy. Can we expect more?

I haave a Fly B430 DS. It is a good phone though TaTA Docomo sim card makes it unstable till you update the phone software.

Inbox cannot have sub-folders. Everything is accessible to everyone at the same place. It should have an option to categorize inbox smses as per the requirement.
It has an in-built ebook reader. Provided you copy the pdf text into a txt file and then transfer that txt file in your phone. After that open that “Extra function-> Ebook reader” to view it.

Every possible mobile version of any site opens. I have used orkut, facebook,google and many other. Agreeing to another review on this blog, the connectivity and data transfer is quite fast.
This phone doesnt support Wifi, also it doesnt have push-email facility. Thus, you should be manually connecting, downloading and reading the emails from your gmail/yahoo/other accounts.
For people who are interested in downloading cool applications for this phone then I find one site quite useful.

, but how did you make this out that the signals are really too high ? Normally it shows 4 bars representing signal strength. Does it show more when only 1 SIM is used (strange)?

i have fly b430ds it is amazing the speed of net and it works were cool i think it is the great buy at this low cost i have aircel net only we have to set the setting manually the opera, nimbzz ,snaptu ,java ,every thing is great i think i have not done any mistake by taking this mobile and it is qwerty to

Can you please tell how are you downloading? Which website you are connecting to? Are you using the Opera Mini built in browser or anything else? I have not downloaded much of the stuff, but saving mail attachments is done quite quickly. I tried uploading attachments, but unfortunately, this thing seems to be missing.
It has a unique feature of blocking SMSes. Cool..good job. So if someone is bothering you with those free smses schemes, then you can easily ward off them

fly is currently making the best mobile at the best prices. everything bout this model (430) is grt. love it. the software is grt, the pricing spot on. get one guys. i bought one and its my best mobile purchase ever. beats nokia sony lg samsung phones till 10,000 rs range. oh, i forgot.. the music is loud fr a cellphone. clarity is on par with sony mobiles.
It has like china made mobile browser is too weak and while viewing video it tells unsupported file.
I am using B430DS mobile I used pcsuite to use net by connecting to pc but the pc suite is not working can any one solve my problem.

Camera quality is not that great. Although it has 1.3MP specification, but it doesnt support that many colours as other phones with the same specification supports. If you are looking for a good camera, then I would suggest look for other options. Even micromax, spice etc have the same camera quality. The pictures taken from this phone are not very sharp. It all depends on your need.
Net speed is all service provider dependent. Phone cant do much into this. I used it with airtel and vodafone and its absolutley perfect. Amazing. No problems at all.
It doesnt have any pc-suite kind of a thing. Just plug n play in the PC and you will see a separate drive created for the phone. Simply manage files as you normally do in any windows explorer.
Battery performance is great. It takes 2.5 hrs to bring a full battery from a dead battery. I have not measured the talk-time battery life but with a heavy usage of almost 3 hrs daily, I generally recharge it every alternate day.
Music in headphone is good. Why not best? because its not a multimedia phone. For best sound, try sony erricson models
Orkut and other networking sites are very easily accessible.
Out of micromax,spice and fly, I would suggest you check them out personally. Features are almost same in all of them, so just check their looks, their service centre things. Micromax has recently launched Q7 with some new features.
I guess this phone is awesome with such a low cost. I am planning to buy it but i juss hava a doubt.. My friend used a Fly handset and he was so annoyed with it that he still curse Fly !! He told me that the service centers r too bad to handle ur request, they’ll keep u up n down but won’t repair the phone in the 1st go.

Hi, u r absolutely right, I m using this phone, I got a problem but service centre representative refuted me to set right the phone, however it was in warranty but he was asking me for paid service n the cost asked by them was too high than the mkt price, then I get it repaired from local market, however phone is very good at all but service is tooooooo poor in UP.

I Hv entered manual Settings as provided to me by Customer Executive but its still not working but as per them GPRS Service on My No. is properly activated.
A Message as “Service Unavailable” with a heading of “Error 503″ appears when i search the Web Browser
I want to know if it is the problem of Service provider or of the Mobile Phone
Should i switch over to any other Service Provider.
I don’t think it’s a problem of Service provider but rec-check the settings entered and make sure you activate them to use.
my fly 430 doesn’t support any application including sbi banking application even i cannot upgrade opera mini except its preloaded.also it cannot use as modem to connect to pc phone suite doesnot work.only slip unix connection is seem working but cannot open the internet explorer.send me a solution pliz thank u

I agree with this low mic volume. Sometimes, its very irritating talking on the call..especailly if you are sitting in office, it makes you talk like a loud-speaker
tell me that you are not serious. I had to reduce the volume (press ‘down’ on the metal dial to decrease the volume) on my first call. the sound clarity is terrific.

it’s a dual sim phone i have connected 2 sim vodophone & uninor.
where do i get the phone internet setting as will as same will be connect to my PC as well.
i hv called cutomer service but they told this is a china phone we will not have the setting of this phone you have to go to nearest vodofone store for setting.

I have configured push mail on Fly B430 model. It worked for some time and then stopped working. It says “network error” eventhough I checked the network. c

My Ques is:
If i am talking to any one on AIRTEL and at the same time Someone calls me on BSNL, should I get waiting call for that also or that person gets switch off BSNL number….
I mean to say should both card can be activated and get call at same time?
Well, if you take a call on airtel, then BSNL one goes out of reach. If you take call on bsnl, then the airtel one will go out of reach. Only 1 sim will be active(the one on which you have taken the call)

Speakin abt d fon will clarify almost all d issues! All d features f dis fon is great except “using d fon as a modem 2 connect 2 d internet(in ur PC)”. I hv gatherd many informations so dat i can hv d most of my flyb430. Even I hv downloadd d pc suite for dis And with some procedures i hv configured d fon 2 work as a modem. Nw its workin but not brilliantly.
But what I most like abt dis fon is dat it is JAVA compatible. We can easily install any java application in our flyb430. Believe me Who has not yet installed it do install JAVA APPS den u ll know d value of ur FLYB430. My recommended apps are Ebuddy,mig33,mtorent,memoryup etc.U can also install JAVA GAMES. u can install any jar files.
Java apps websites: getjar.com, mobibuzz.net, stevebasu.net,9xmobi.com and manymore.
