Gmail Priority Inbox: Automatically Sort Emails according to Importance
Of course, we are witnessing a virtual revolution in our favorite Email Service. First there was a change in its graphical interface followed by other improvements and video-conferencing in Linux , VOIP calls on Gmail and now bring us a better classification of our mails, Priority Inbox.
In this fast moving world, we always tend to optimize the time invested using Schedule managers setting priorities of work, etc. Everything to be more productive! Engineers at Google realized that many users find it hard to read all emails in their inbox and hence, why not classify emails according to their importance? I am not talking about differentiating SPAM but the new feature Priority inbox tries to sort Inbox mails as Urgent, Important, Preferential or Can be Postponed.
Mailing lists, friends with plenty of free time, the Boss, Colleagues, Social networks and almost everything with which we have contact through the network just going through our inbox (and not exactly SPAM) as the classification work can be long and heavy and lose much time, which can be invested in other things. With the new functionality of Gmail (still in beta and not active in all accounts) we will have no such problems.
Priority Mail or Priority Inbox sorts out emails according to their importance and so you can act on them quickly or postpone for some another time. It is based on Artificial Intelligence which records our actions on certain emails. For example: If we continue to reply instantly to someone (say Your Boss) their priority increases while on other hand if we continue to postpone reading emails of Special offer from regular Flying services, their priority decreases. Note, in both cases, the Messages are not SPAM. The concept of Priority Inbox is not so easy to explain but you can get a better idea about it’s working from the video below:
It is clear that, we must continue to act with our emails as we did and Mailbox itself will learn the sorting of incoming emails. The older it gets, the better it becomes!

Wow, I have seen many blogs postying about this, but I have not yet logged into my gmail account to see what it’s all about.
It makes me think what Google will come up with next as they are always enhancing their products.
Great post.
Thanks for the info. I have log in to the Gmail and check this out.
