Google Chrome version 2.x released

google-chrome-2-betaWithin a span of roughly 3 months, Google Chrome 1.x stable version was out from beta. Google Chrome is day by day reaching and being used as a great alternative to other Browsers and that too in short time period.

Google has released version 2.x pre beta version of Google Chrome Browser. Google is also now splitting up its releases into three public versions (from two) so there will now be a stable, dev and a beta version.

Some Impressive features :

  1. The new version of WebKit has support for full page zoom, autoscroll, CSS gradients and CSS canvas drawing.
  2. Google Chrome 2.x has support for Google’s own version of HTTP.
  3. User script support so a users could run their own code inside of the browser (similar to the super-popular Firefox Greasemonkey add-on).
  4. Multiple browser Profiles to have different bookmarks etc loaded for a particular session.
  5. Better spell-check with the ability to quickly change languages.
  6. Bookmark import from Google Bookmarks
  7. Google has also added support for a very high degree of customization

However, This release not available for public download directly. But still, you can download it using following steps :

  1. Download Google Chrome (skip if you already have it).
  2. Download and run the Google Chrome Channel Changer.
  3. Check the third option i.e. dev release and click Update and then Close.
  4. Start Google Chrome – Go to Settings->About and Click Update Now and it will start updating your Google Chrome 1.0.154.36 to Google Chrome 2.0156.1
