Recently, I posted about one such way to receive 6 months activation license of Kaspersky antivirus 2009 but unfortunately, it went wrong and didn’t work. This time I have taken care to check the trick myself and posting it now and assure you that using this procedure, you can receive Genuine Activation key valid for 6 months absolutely free!

Actually, Kaspersky is giving away 50,000 licenses for free on condition that they should be activated before 1st April 2009. Procedure is simple which includes entering Email ID and hit submit after captcha image verification. Only problem is that the site interface is in Chinese Language but don’t worry!

1. Go to http://li.kaba365.com/
2. Fill out details as per screenshot

3. Enter Image verification code

4. Click on Cancel if you face any pop-up window.

5. You will receive 25 digit activation key in you email.
-> Now, if you try to activate your product (which is in English) using this key, it will prompt you saying- Activation code is not compatible with this version (simply, because its only for Chinese version).

6. Open Kaspersky Antivirus and uncheck “Self defense” mode

7. Go to C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009\Skin\loc and rename the folder from en to sch.

Before activating, you will need to make installed version a chinese one (not really but using registry hack) So, open Registry editor using regedit command in Run utility.

6.  Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\AVP8\environment.

7. Look for the Localization name and double click on it. Change the value data from en to sch.

8. Open Kaspersky antivirus program and avtivate it online using the activation code you received  in Email.

Hope you carry out all the steps carefully. They look more in number however, it will not take more than 5 minutes to activate. This was originally posted on Raymond’s blog and I blogged about it so that my readers should also take benefit of it. If you don’t have already installed Kapersky Antivirus on your system, get the latest version from here.

    The above method will not work anymore. They made an update to kaspersky so that people may not use chinese version.

    Thans for your suggestion. I have tried the same and it was working fine. But after updating the virus deffination files the key was not running although, i was change the localization from en to sch which you stated in your text. Pls help me and tried to resolve the problem.

      @Arup, Did you check localization after updating? Try following the procedure again and do update only after the key starts working for you.
