LG Cookie Plus GS500V: 3G TouchScreen, 3MP Camera Phone at Rs. 7692
LG Cookie Plus or LG GS500v is another new handset launched by LG along with LG Cookie Fresh having very interactive Touch screen interface with 3MP camera, music player, FM Radio, Bluetooth v2.1 , EDGE and 3G at a price of Rs 7692.
It has a bar form factor, weighs 91 grams and bears a dimension of 107 x 52.5 x 11.5mm. It has 3 inch TFT screen with brilliant display quality of 240×400 pixels at 262K colors. The 3MP camera comes with an option of digital zoom (2x) and video recording at resolutions of 320×240 and 176×144. Images can be captured at 2048×1536, 1600×1200, 1280×960, 640×480, 400×240, 320×240 resolutions. The music player is capable of playing MP3, AMR, AAC, AAC+, WMA and MIDI files.
For connectivity purposes, it supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G and WAP services. It also has Bluetooth and USB support to facilitate fast data transfer requirements. Cookie Plus comes with applications ust Cricket, Data Wallet, LG HelpDesk, NewsHunt, Push e-mail. It supports all java applications hence you can download lots of games and play them. It supports Motion gaming and games that comes bundled with it are BejeweledTwist (T&B), Brain Challenge 2 Demo(T&B), Ferrari GT Demo(T&B), The Sims3(T&B), Sudoku Café. It also comes with Anti theft Mobile tracker which is a useful feature at times when security of the phone is concerned. Most importantly it comes with a document viewer that supports doc, xls, ppt and pdf files.
It supports 3G so you can also enjoy high speed internet browsing with inbuilt browser but you can always download opera mini and have full uninterrupted internet experience easily and conveniently, it also provides inbuilt oxford dictionary and many other social network shortcuts like facebook, picasa, orkut, tweeter etc to keep you connected with the social networks. It lacks GPS device.
It has an internal memory of 30Mb and is expandable up to 8GB, which is bit less compaired to LG cookie Fresh GS290 supporting 16GB. It comes with a 900 mAh LI-Ion battery that can provide talk time up to 10 Hrs and standby time up to 393 Hrs and can be charged via USB cable also. It is available in color variants like Black, White, Silver and Baby Pink.
My verdict: Considering that 3G and 3MP camera as important factors now a days LG Cookie plus can be preferred over Cookie Fresh. But if you are a basic user with not much requirement of high speed 3G connection and camera you can definitely go for Cookie Fresh available at Rs. 5962. Apart from 3G and 3Mp camera all basic features are nearly same. If you are searching for reliable Symbian touch screen handset(S60V5) below Rs 1000 then you can check out Nokia 5235 available at Rs. 8500.

My lovely new LG Cookie no longer would seem as appealing since a person appears to be to are already able to hack into my phone and access the internet although I’m asleep. I purchased it from your O2 shop and have an O2 sim card. O2 are certainly not in any respect very helpful but over £42 worth of credit has been sucked out of my pre-paid account. Any suggestions about wherever I can come across out ways to solve this problem?

from the above said things i came to know that this phone supports wma files but recently i was not able to play a wma file on my mob could any one tell me why it was so….
great phone. easy to use, manuevering around my new lg prime is really great. fits well in my pocket and feels great to hold. great unlocked gsm phones. they are great for business and emailing and wifi helps me keep in touch with my clients. much better than my old unlocked blackberry phones. games are great and keep my family and daughter busy. also got our htc unlock codes and cell phone unlocking for free! got our last couple prime’s at unlockthatphone.com 2 thumbs up
i own an lg cookie plus and am a satisfied owner! its a good handset, worth its price. it has some glitches which are usual. i would recommend this phone!

lg cookie plus softwares are not availble that eaisly also the video does not play in fullscreen. i would say go for nokia 5233 which has more camera picture quality and video quality. also many application are available.

great phone. i love its apps. but i have a problem as well – can someone tell me how to use internet using this mobile? my internet connection has been activated, but when i go to the browser it doesnt work at all.
gr8 phone , but somethings r irritating . ex- u cannot zoom while making vdo , u cannot del the list of websites u have visited from the ‘enter address’ menus……u can also not lock the keypad with a security code . major problem is many apps on internet r not compatible with dis phone.

I bought this mobile (LG GS500v) in Jan 2011, till date I dint find any problems with it. Its really an awesome mobile.
Also I wish to give some suggestions abt this mobile.
1) Affordable price.
2) Handy n easy accessible.
3) If ur mobile is LG GS500v, Go for the SIM Service TATA DOCOMO for best internet access speed, and below are some steps for Best Internet usage, ie,
i> First Activate the TATA DOCOMO 3g service to ur mobile “3G LIFE” to 53333.
ii> Opt for normal internet pack (Rs. 48 with 2GB Data Download, or Rs. 65 with 2.5GB Data Download or else Rs. 98 with 6GB Data Download)
iii> Actual Data Speed of these TD Internet Packs are 128 Kbps.
iv> But once u activate TD 3G service n opt of reqd internet pack, We an ACCESS DATA DOWNLOAD SPEED OF 3.6 Mbps speed.
v> If not compromised by my stmt, u can check-out on ur own.
[N.B :- this is only for internet info, later will share abt the unique features of this mobile, like 3g video calling etc ]
