Many users on Internet, all those like me do not have super fast connections especially in India as compared to UK, Europe, etc. They have enough problems when watching videos from YouTube. Most of the times, you cannot watch it on the go, it interrupts to load buffer during playback.
The people at Google are always one step ahead, They think of the majority of users still struck with slow speed. And hence, introduced a Lite version of Youtube what they called Feather. This project is made for users who experience problems with uploading videos can use this system to see them more quickly.
What it does is strips down YouTube viewing pages down to its core elements. These videos tablets bear a different manner than standard. As I said earlier, this is a beta version and that is why is it that in many videos that will not work or errors. So as more reports are resolved faster and faster in near future.
I think this is a good move because it gives users what they want. Prove to be a solution designed for slower connections and for those who want to watch videos.
