Right ads at right place ensures higher CTR thus a chance to earn more. We all take care for having the ads at its best possible location, here we will discuss more about such possible ads places and how to implement it in your wordpress blog.Adsense ads or any other network ads after single post can be the right choice to deal with. On Homepage or on category page or on tag page we have numbers of post (in most cases 7-10) on single page. Many of us concentrate on sidebar, header, footer or customizing ads in single page but fewer of them are worried about ad position on page where there are multiple posts.

How to add adsense or any html code after first post?

Step I : Go to WordPress Dashboard >>Appearance >> Editor.

Step II: Select the page to be edited say Home page ,category page or tag page (Here we will discuss about Home page i.e., index.php click on it)

Step III: Search for following php tag just press CTRL + F

<?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

Step IV : Add following code before above as

<?php $bscount = 1; ?>

Step V: Now look for <?php endwhile; else: ?> and place <?php $bscount++; ?> above it.

Step: VI : Finally place this code where you want your ads to be appeared between Step IV and V

<?php if ($bscount == 1) : ?>

<!– Your HTML/Adsense code here –>

<?php endif; $bscount++; ?>

If you want do display ads after 2nd or 3rd post then you just have to replace “1″ by either 2 or 3 or with any no as per your requirement in all php tag showing “bscount == 1″.

Are you having trouble making money with AdSense? I see many threads in webmaster forums, such as, “200 clicks and only 60 cents?”, “Why is no one clicking my ads?”, and “Why are my clicks only 1-2 cents each?”

The two major problems with getting low clicks are picking the wrong niche and not doing proper keyword research.

1.) Wrong Niche – There are some niche out there that has low competition and low demand. You might be thinking, “Great, if it has low competition, then I will be #1 on Google fast so I can make a lot of money with AdSense.” Wrong. Just because you get to #1 fast does not mean the niche has a lot of advertisers willing to pay well. For example, “toffee basket” niche has very low competition, and based on Google’s keyword tool

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

the average cost per click on ads for that phrase is only 5 cents (as of today). Also, people who are in the “make money online” niche will have a very hard time competing with the top players in that niche. If you are not in the first or even second page of Google for that phrase, you will have a hard time making money on AdSense.

2.) Proper Keyword Research – Before anyone decides to dive in and work on a niche, he or she must do proper keyword research. First, you need to download this free SEO for Firefox add-on:

tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html

With that add-on, you will be able to quickly analyze the first few sites on the first page of Google. For example, you type in “cookies” in the search, you can quickly find out the Pagerank (PR) of each site listed there. As of today, the first 3 sites’ titles are listed in the following:

HTTP cookie – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (PR 8 )

Enable cookies : Search history and settings – Web Search Help (PR 6)

Cookies – All Recipes (PR 5)

Rule of thumb: If the first 3 sites on Google are 5+ PR, you will need several months/years to rank in the first page of Google. You will also need a lot of high quality backlinks to your site to compete with those sites. Trying to build a site to compete for the term “Cookies” will take you forever to make a decent amount of cash. You are trying to make money soon, and not 5 years later!

Now, let’s try “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies”. As of today, the first 3 sites’ titles are listed in the following:

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies – All Recipes (PR 2)

Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe from Betty Crocker (PR 2)

Cooks.com – Recipes – Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies (PR 2)

Whoa! You can easily dominate the #1 spot for this keyword (I have a feeling everyone who is reading this article will jump on that keyword). Now, to make sure this phrase is worth working on, check Google’s keyword tool. Type in the tool, “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies”. Before you look at the numbers, look at the match type: it should say “Broad”. Set “Broad” to “Exact” to show the average of how many people would type in “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies” per month. If you leave it on as “broad”, it will show you the total including other phrases that have “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies” in it. For example, “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies recipe”, “chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies”, “healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies”, etc. You get the idea of the broad search?

As of today, the average per month search on “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies” is 14,800 global monthly search. When it comes to making money on AdSense, just focus on the global monthly search. Look in the “Choose columns to display:” and enable “Estimated Avg. CPC”, that will show you a rough estimate of how much advertisers are willing to pay for that phrase. As of today, it is $1.34. Not bad!

If you are stuck having a hard time finding a niche, then go to Amazon, eBay, or anywhere to find a niche. There are an infinite amount of things you can write about. The best thing about Google’s keyword tool is that you can type in one keyword, and the keyword tool will help you brainstorm a bunch of ideas. When I typed in “cookies”, “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies” was one of them. REMEMBER: Put the search on “Exact” instead of “Broad”.

Ok, so now you have the right niche, and you did proper keyword research, now what? You make a site (or blog) on it. You can even use free blogs such as Blogspot with a crappy domain. If you check “make money online” on Google, you will find 2-3 sites in the first page with a .blogspot.com domain.

The title of your site is VERY important! If you want to rank #1 on Google for “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies”, then the title of your site will need to be Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. DO NOT get fancy with the title. Do not think about writing the title as Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies – Easy To Make Recipes. Google looks for relevancy when it comes to search engine optimization. The title “Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies” has 100% relevancy for the keyword “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies”, while the other one is not 100% because there are additional words to the title. Based on my search earlier for that phrase, the top 3 sites had PR 2 and none of them had 100% relevant titles. This is why you can easily dominate that spot (but sorry, after reading this article I’m sure bunch of you will be trying to fight over the same niche).

What to write for this niche? Go to Google’s keyword tool, and type in “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies”. You will see a huge list of ideas, such as “chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies” and “oatmeal chocolate chip cookies recipe”. You want your site to have posts that are all relevant to the title.

Do not always be intimidated when you see authoritative sites on the first 3 positions of Google. For example, while Allrecipes.com is a PR 7, the links inside the site gets weaker and weaker as you have to go deeper into the site to look for something. For example, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies is a few links deep inside Allrecipes.com. Webmasters often times call pageranks “Linkjuice”, and this “Linkjuice” gets spread out to each link in your site. This is why the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies link in Allrecipes.com is a PR 2 instead of PR 7.

Make sure backlinks going to your site have proper anchor text links. Anchor text link is like “Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies” (link to your site) instead of blahblah.com. Typically, people would link to your site as just the domain name. I am not going to write an article on how to build backlinks. If the anchor text link says Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, it is telling Google EXACTLY what the site is about. Do not just focus on one type of anchor text link because that will be suspicious. Google wants everything to look natural so you want anchor text links to say “chewy oatmeal chocolate chipc cookies” as an example to diversify your backlinks.

Key things to keep in mind:

1.) Build lots of backlinks with proper anchor text links.

2.) Make sure the title of your site is 100% relevant to the keywords that you want to dominate.

3.) Do your keyword research to make sure that the niche has weak competition and decent advertisers spending for that keyword.

Are you a business owner or an affiliate marketer and want to generate some leads with the help of PPC Campaigns but can’t able to achieve positive ROI from your campaigns. Then this article is for you. This article would cover the common mistakes which makes a PPC campaign Unprofitable and how to turn your unprofitable PPC campaign into Profitable campaigns.

Wrong Selection of Keywords: – This is the most common problem which makes a PPC campaign unprofitable. Most of the advertisers select all the keywords which Google Adwords tool or any other keyword suggestion tool recommend and ignore the commercial intention of the keywords. Filter out the best keywords according to their commercial intention, CPC and their relevancy to your Product.

Not using Ad groups: – Putting irrelevant keywords in one ad group is major cause of failure of PPC campaigns. Divide your keywords into various ad groups tightly so that only highly relevant keywords remain in one ad group and try to create separate customized ads for each ad group. You can add up to 100 ad groups in one campaign.

Irrelevant Ad copy: – PPC campaigns don’t perform well if your ad copy is not relevant to user searched query. Always try to use keyword in title and body of your ad copy so that it looks relevant. Also you can use emotional triggers like SALE, Buy Now in your ad copy to grab user attention. Also it is a best practice to use Keywords in your display url too. Display urls with keywords always get more clicks. Don’t use common words like is, the, to in your ad copy as you only have limited number of characters to use.

Using of Broad Match: – Are you using Broad Match option in your campaigns? Broad match means that Google will automatically run your ads for all relevant variations of your keywords. For e.g:- If you are using keyword ‘Nike shoes’ then add will also run for phrases like ”My friends shoes are of Nike ” as you can see such queries don’t have any commercial intention and don’t convert well, Use either Phrase match or Exact Match option for your Campaign.

Irrelevant Landing Pages: – Your Landing pages are not relevant to the ads you are showing in your PPC campaigns. It is very important to design relevant landing pages for your ads. For eg:- If you are offering a free book in your ad copy and you are directing all traffic to landing page where users have to pay for the book then users will get frustrated and just leave away your page. Create separate landing pages for each offer in case you are promoting multiple offers at same time.

High Loading Time: – Your Landing pages take lots of time to load completely and your visitors are leaving away because they don’t have time to wait. Since high loading time of your landing pages will affect your Keyword quality score in a negative way and increase CPC for your keywords. Make sure that landing pages load fast. Avoid using of unobtrusive elements like Flash, Pop-ups, and iframes on your landing pages.

Not tracking the results: – There is always a scope of improvement in your PPC Campaigns hence analyzing results of your current PPC campaigns is really important. The analysis would help you to find

out the ads and landing pages which are converting well as compared to others and reasons which make them more successful. Even a small change in your PPC campaign can make a huge impact on your Conversion rate so keep on testing and tweaking your PPC campaign and improving its conversion rate.

Google has launched a new option for users of it’s blogging platform, Blogger which will link the blogs hosted there with ads of Amazon to offer its users new ways to make money.

Like Adsense options are available on the tab “monetize”, from which we can easily link our account at Amazon Partner with our blog, with a choice if we want advertising to text-only or text with images.

Don’t get misinterpreted with Amazon ads as any PPC or CPM network, You can earn upto 15% of commission on each product your refer to your reader.

It seems good that a company like Google, which has its own platform of ads (and actually based their existence in online) offer alternative options to its users, even though these may harm their own interests.

You just have to find products from Amazon that have an interest or are related to something we wrote in our blog, because as already said in official post, You should avoid promoting products simply because of the referral fee you might earn — readers may lose some of that trust if they sense your posts exist solely to make you money.

For some countries especially for India, it has become difficult to get approval for new adsense account so, various illegal ways were used to get approved by Google. Tampering data on Adsense account is quite popular among them. But Google has started catching such users.

Tampering means to modify HTTP/HTTPS headers and post parameters. This is accomplished by Firefox Addon “Tamper data” which allows you to change Country in Adsense account details which is generally not possible to edit. This is a clear violation of Google Adsense TOS so, they have started closing accounts made using this technique. Email received by such account holders reads as follows with subject Google AdSense Policy Enforcement-

During a recent review of your account, our specialists found that tamper data was used to modify the country listed in your account. Changing your address in this manner is a violation of our policy guidelines. As a result, your account has been disabled. Please keep in mind that Google reserves the right to disable AdSense accounts or ad serving to sites that do not comply with our program policies.

With the above statement, so called Google’s politeness, at last they say – Thank you for your understanding.

My Take: The main cause behind creation of such accounts using innovative ideas is Google itself. Yes, if Google would have accepted Adsense application on the basis of Site content and quality, there would have no disappointment on applicant’s mind. I have personally experienced that Google prettily accepts Adsense application coming from other countries except India. So, Tampering was the option implemented to change Country in account.

Are you still hunting for Adsense account or You too are a victim of recent account disablement, you can try what to do if Adsense account is disabled.

P.S. Don’t try Tamper Data on your Account and Fortunately, It doesn’t work anymore. Tell us if you were successful executing Tampering Adsense Account.

Subscribers generally reads your posts from RSS feeds. There are very less chances of their visit your website URL. Here, they get what they want but what about Ad-revenue? There are no page impressions or clicks because of that so here is a good news for all the bloggers.

Google has started a service called Adsense for feeds that enables publishers to place relevant ads in the feeds they syndicate. The service is still in beta stage. Here are some screenshots of Google Adsnse ads inside Feeburner RSS feeds.

These Google ads are also contextual and appear after every article in the feed. Unlike the regular AdSense ads that are rendered via JavaScript, these feed ads are served as image maps in 468×30 format.

To view these AdSense feed ads, go through Bloglines or just open this FeedBurner link in IE browser. Direct feedburner link doesn’t show any ads in browser other than Internet Explorer.

At the moment if you want this service on your RSS feeds, you will need to apply for it and the condition put up by them is atleast 100 active RSS subscribers. This service will be available directly from Feedburner/Adsense account soon when it is out from Beta stage.

So guys, what do say about this development, did you like this service? Have your comments here.

Why these PPC networks are behind me? After getting Google adsense account disabled, now Adbrite account got flagged for potential unauthorized access. I use Adbrite on my mp3 and movies’ blog which is whole and sole of blog income. They sent me an email asking me to confirm Publisher payment details.

Email reads as follows:

Your account has been flagged for potential unauthorized access. In order to protect your account and process your current payment, we need to verify the new address information on file. Please fax the following information below to (415) 520-9695. Please note that we cannot process your current payment until we confirm your new address and payment information.

1. Valid photo ID (example: driver’s license, passport)
2. Proof of address (example: utility bill, credit card statement)
3. Include a coversheet containing your username and email address.

I think it’s bit clear from their mail. Now, It was a matter of my payments so, I have to be serious with it but this time too I didn’t came to know why did it happen? I had no idea of sending fax since I never had an experience of sending fax. Also, it would cost me a big amount as an ISD fax to US.

But, the fax problem resolved by sending it for free. I will write about free faxing service in my next post so, subscribe and be updated with new posts.

At the moment, I am able to access my account but ad units are inactive and my payments too on hold. Hope, the problem gets fixed and my account and payments are reinstated.

The above one is a snapshot of wordpress.com blog showing adsense ads. Can’t believe? Just check out this blog StuffWhitePeopleLike.Wordpress.Com and you will see Adsense units on individual post view. It was hard to believe to see those ads on free hosted wordpress.com blog because WordPress never allowed me to show adsense units inside post.

If this would really happen, then many bloggers on blogspot.com will move to WordPress.com for sure. Do you have a blog hosted on wordpress.com? Are you able to put ads on it?

It is now possible to show ads because WordPress allows VIP hosting to put ads on that free domain. I guess, it’s not too far that when wordpress will allow bloggers to show ads because this development will really help them to increase wordpress business.

What do you think? Why not, comment and continue this conversation? You can also subscribe to feeds of our blog.
