What more does Nokia 5330 has to offer over other DVB-H terminal like N96? Well, basically, a program guide with which we can put alarms alerted when we will start our favorite and a 1000 mAh battery that promises, on paper, 6 hours of battery life in TV mode.

It has a 3.2 MegaPixel Camera and Not only designed for mobile TV but also for music. Special playback keys located on the side of the screen and 3.5mm Audio Output jack for Headsets which acts like antenna for Radio.

Forecasts indicate that by 2012, some 300 million people will watch TV in the DVB-H mobile, and Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition will start attracting users from the first quarter of 2010. Will hit Filandia, Holland or Italy as these countries have high level of DVB-H broadcast facility. However for India, picture is somewhat daunting; Doordarshan has plans to roll out mobile TV services in 17 cities as per BroadCast Engineering article.

The device will be sold during the first quarter of 2010 (around January to March), and will have a price of 155 Euro (untaxed) which is around 12000 Rupees or 250$ US Dollars.

  1. wooh this is very stylish. so now i have to change my old module.

  2. Nokia says:

although i like this phone, for some reason i dounbt the market for mobile phones will be ‘over 300 mln’ in a couple of years as nokia predicts. the screen is tiny, and i’m not sure the reception will be perfect in less developed countries (where it is being introduced during the first phase). plus, if people want to watch football matches and movies, nothing beats the big screen
