Opera Mini is a great mobile browser, and now updated to version 5.1 to bring some improvements. Yes, the update for now only reaches the lower-end Mobile Phones with Java or Symbian.

The beauty of Opera Mini is that, besides being a very good browser overall, compresses the files used to display the pages up to 90%, which saves a lot of data transfer (and therefore money in many cases). Boilesen Lars, CEO of Opera, says that more than 61 million people spread across more than 3,000 types of devices, use Opera Mini to browse from them.

Improvements in this latest version include faster navigation on computers with little memory, a faster glide through the pages, and overall improvements in the browser, and a new visual style that allows more pages can be open at time.

The advice from Opera is that the update is “highly recommended” especially for computers with limited memory, and being a free application, I see no reason for someone not to. You can download it from http://m.opera.com on their mobiles.
