Symbian is a most popular Mobile operating system, owned by Nokia which runs most of the Nokia phones as well others, and has shipped about 330 million devices worldwide. It has taken a major step to lure customers by making its code opensource.
It is completely open-source from today and available for free download to all.

Open-source means that any organization or individual can now use and modify the platform’s underlying source code “for any purpose”. So, It will increase rate of evolution and increase the rate of innovation of the platform. It is available for free download on Symbian Foundation website
