WordPress 2.6 RC1 is now online!

WordPress 2.6 is being followed and it’s the time when WordPress 2.6 Release candidate 1 is available for download.

The new features included in WordPress 2.6.1 are as follows :

  1. Integration of Google gears to ofer offline blogging.
  2. Preview Themes without those being activated.
  3. Media uploader and gallery improvements.
  4. Image caption and image editing fixes.
  5. Ability to toggle between the flash uploader and a regular browser uploader.
  6. Notification bubble on the Plugins menu when plugin updates are available.
  7. etc…

    This might make some people happy but it’s doesn’t make me happy!

    I hate wordpress for the amount of upgrades we have to do. I also hate this about phpbb as well
    We have better things to do in life then update our websites software so much!

    Also those fixes you mentioned are minimal to wordpress real and true issue.

    @ bbrian017 : i know what you mean .. and you can always ignore these minor updates and just do the big stuff
