YouTube Movies: Watch Full Length High Quality Films for Free
Youtube has launched Free Movie Service which allows you to watch Full length Movies on youtube for free in High Quality. It includes variety of Films and also lists old and mid-range Bollywood Hindi Movies. There are currently 400 movies at initial stage.
YouTube has signed partnerships with www.blinkbox.com, British online film and TV aggregator, and US studios like Lionsgate, MGM and Sony Pictures for the free movie channel.
Movies are classified according to Genres which includes classic, horror, drama, documentary, and Bollywood films. Youtube Bollywood Movie Section lists classic films such as Maine Pyar kiya, Andaz apna apna, etc. and new comedy movies like Dhamaal, Hera Pheri. Among Regional Indian Movies, I could only find one Marathi movie Saali ne Kela Ghotala.
According to YouTube, Movies will include a range that “brings together a library of film ranging from past mainstream hits to cult classics and beyond, and YouTube hopes the Movies section will grow in time.” This is really a great step which will make Youtube more Popular as people will no more have to hunt for illegal videos which violated Copyrights.
YouTube launched its movies section in the US earlier this year, offering a choice of free and paid-for films. The UK version currently offers all of its films for free accompanied by ads for blinkbox. The YouTube UK site may expand to include paid films in the future.

One hopes that the selection will improve, although “Santa Claus Conquers The Martians” is an auteurist’s delight and a largely unrecognized milestone in the Art of World Cinema, or maybe the World of Art Cinema.
