Zen 90 Orbit: Square shaped swivel handset at Rs. 5399

Zen mobiles have launched a unique slider dual SIM handset in a way that its screen can take up to complete 180-degree turn. With 3MP camera packed into it, the glossy handset looks amazing at a price range of Rs. 5399. Has inbuilt all social networking applications and chatting client which reminds me of Nokia 7705 Twist.

The 2.4 inch square shaped swivel handset comes with a decent music player with equalizer support. It also features a FM radio with recording facility. To give a musical sensation, the handset has strong built in speakers.

Z90 is equipped with motion sensor, which might come handy while playing games. Its connectivity options are just limited to WAP, GPRS and bluetooth. However, it supports email client supporting POP3 and IMAP protocols and has Opera Mini browser for web browsing. The handset also features a 3.5 mm audio jack and USB support.

One of the major drawback about the handset is its battery life. It offers only up to 2.5 hours talktime, if the handset is fully charged. So, you can imagine if you are constantly busy with taking photos, videos and playing songs, the phone will very soon get discharged.

On the positive side, Zen Orbit at atleast a Java based handset and therefore you can easily download the Java games and necessary software utilities. It comes with an expandable memory support of 8GB which must be sufficient for storing pictures and music files.

My Verdict

Zen Orbit 90 is a solid offering by Zen keeping in mind its twisting screen through which you can view your photos at various angles. Considering its looks, the phone should appeal more towards women. Its glossy finish and a price tag of Rs. 5399 seem apt as well.
