• Now, a pop-up dialog box appears to explain what is about to happen next, “Send email from your Gmail address using Outlook.com” and “See and chat with your Gmail contacts from the new platform (i.e. Outlook.com) and other Microsoft web services”.
• The ‘Options’ link enables selecting and importing all of the Gmail messages into a folder and/or sub folders, which by default is opposite to the default settings (i.e. Migrate selected folders and sub folders only). With the selected option, click ‘Start’.

Note: Based on the requirements, you can opt for the ‘Options’ later or tight during email import.

•  Subsequently, you will be asked to choose an email account to import data from, in case you signed in to Gmail with multiple email accounts. Choose the right account to proceed. However, in case your account is not listed, click ‘Add account’ and type-in your login credentials, and then proceed.

• You see a message box, saying, what is about to happen next. Moreover, it asks your permission to authorize Microsoft to access your email account.

• Click ‘Accept’ to provide authorization to Microsoft to access your Gmail account information. Once you click ‘Accept’, it will start importing your emails and contacts on Gmail account into Outlook.com account. The time elapsed in the migration process relies on the number of emails and contacts in your Gmail account.

Note: The migration process keeps going on in the background without bothering you in any sense. Therefore, you can carry on with other work on the computer.

You will receive an email from Microsoft, which includes steps to set up email auto-forwarding. These steps will be executed every time you receive an email on your Gmail address, and then forward it to your Outlook.com account. However, you can still send emails from your Gmail address.

While the email auto-forwarding steps are being executed, your Outlook account remains safe; there is not at all an issue with the Gmail account as well. In case you want to use your Gmail account at its original address , you can undoubtedly use it. You will see all your emails and contacts intact on Gmail as well.

Note: In case you want to give it a try, I suggest going for it since it does not affect any of both the email accounts. Moreover, you can anytime access your Gmail account right on the mail.google.com

Tinted StatusBar is a Xposed App module. It can change the status bar color to match the opened app’s background color. Once you close the app the color will change back to default. This feature gives cool overall visual appearance. To get the Tinted Statusbar module you have to install Xposed app first. Since we have not covered that part earlier, in this article I will be walking you through it briefly.

Xposed Framework for Android

This framework allows you to modify many features in Android without changing the ROM or going through any hideous processes. Now this Xposed Framework allows many modules to work and modify the android behavior. It comes with a bunch of modules like Icon Themer, Per App DPI changer, Full screen caller ID, Battery icon mod etc. The number of mods exceeds a dozen. So you can enjoy wailing your Android tweaking time.

Installing Xposed Framework

Installing it is very easy. Its just like installing just another android app. The main thing here is to get your device rooted, if you still haven’t. Are you still thinking is it worth Rooting Android Smartphone if not changing ROM?

Head over to XDA forum and download Xposed Framework. Detailed instructions can be found in that thread too. Copy the APK file and install it. After installation of APK file you need to install the framework from within.

In this article we will go through a sidebar app which presents things in a bit different style. Basically it is a metro styled sidebar and can be used on Windows 7 onwards. MetroSidebar is a freeware app which brings metro styled sidebar to windows.

Personally, I liked it a lot. The power features and launcher will benefit Windows 8 users. Once you setup the sidebar properly you do not have to pay much attention to it.

Working with MetroSidebar

After installing the sidebar it can be triggered by same way in which you access the Charms bar. Take the mouse pointer to right bottom or top corner. The Charms bar will slide out and you can see a black shiny border behind it. Click on that to bring up the Metro sidebar. Well, this is the case when you keep the sidebar in auto hide mode else its present all the time. I have faced no confusion or conflict with Charms bar during my usage span.

The feature that caught my attention is that it is totally customizable. The color of the gadget tile did not match your wallpaper or is it looking awkward? nothing to worry, just change it to whatever you like.

You can also push down gadgets to other sidebar faces. The number and active face will be denoted by dots present at bottom. You can remove the gadget tile you do not want on sidebar. Gadgets like clock and launchers and weather do have their own settings.

Adding Gadget Tiles to Sidebar

There are not many gadgets to use at this point. Apart from the basic ones already provided, you can also download them from the online tab. The online download service is not ready yet and I hope it will be up and running soon. With Live Tile support there can be many useful gadgets in future.

Overall it is a beautiful sidebar and totally blends with Windows 8 UI as if it is an official feature. I have tested it on Windows 8.1 x64, there were no troubles of any sort. It consumed about 20 MB RAM, which is fair enough. You must definitely give it a try.

Though the feature resembles, Pie Control is not ported from Paranoid Android. It is a separate standalone app for any Android device running on Froyo 2.2  and above. So, you can spruce your old devices with this app. Lets see the features this app has to offer.

Pie Control Settings

Before you can use Pie Control properly, you need to set it up. From the Pie Control settings select the Launcher you want to attach it with. This option is necessary if you have multiple launchers installed on your device like Holo, Stock Launcher, Go Launcher etc. It works with all the launchers but you need to attach it with the one being used.

Once done customize the triggers, the Pie Control pops up when you press these triggers. Keep the trigger short and broad so that it recognizes the touch. Initially, I was trying with thin trigger and was facing difficulty in bringing it up.

Color customization is optional, do that according to your taste or with a combo to your wallpaper. Selecting inner and outer radius properly is crucial. It will increase the size of Pie Control. If you do not customize this properly the inside icons might pop out giving an overall bad look.

To give things a final touch, there is an optional glow feature. I didn’t like it much so didn’t use it. Finally select Keep in memory so that your task killer does not close it to free memory.

Triggering Pie Control

It can be triggered whenever you want and while whatever you are doing. The trigger is always present on top of every thing. Press and hold the trigger to make it pop the control. Select the action you want to perform and it will be done in no time. It’s easy to use and nothing much to think over.

Conclusion

I have tested this app on Galaxy S4 running on stock 4.2.2 based custom ROM. It worked fine with no force close or lag issues. Support for Android Froyo makes it a plus point as many users with old devices can enjoy this app. We have to wait to see the feature inclusions in future versions.

You cannot add pictures from online sources like Instagram. Well, its necessary at times when you are directly uploading photos from your mobile device to instagram. So, now lets see how to create photo Slideshow with music and online photo integration.

Create Photo Slideshow with Music

First of all, you need to download a small free application named 4K Slideshow Maker. Once you have downloaded it, directly head to the app home screen.

As you can see, the interface is pretty simple. All you need to do is add your photos and create Photo slideshow with music. We will be taking a detailed look on how to customize your slideshow and give it an extra edge.

Working with 4K Slideshow Maker

In this section I will be covering the initial step from adding images till final step to Create Photo slideshow with music.

Adding Photos to 4K Slideshow Maker

You can add photos from local storage in 2 ways. One is to use the “Add photos” option and another is to drag and drop selected photos into application Window. It is specifically useful if you are already having your photo folder open in front of you.

Adding Photos From Instagram

To add instagram photos, you will need Instagram user name. It is the user name of the person whose shared photos you want to use in your slide show. Once the photos appear, left click on them to select. Selected photos will be represented by a tick mark. Click on Add Photos to add the selected photos.

Now that you are ready with the photos. You can review photos and make basic adjustments to each of them or even remove them.

To add music to your slideshow, click on change Music. Select a music file of your choice. Try to select a long music if you have lots of photos in slideshow.

 Customize Photo Transitions & Slideshow Quality

To customize and create photo slideshow with music, go to Settings. You can select photo duration and transition effect duration. If you want you can also restrict slideshow duration to your music duration. Additionally you can also use Ken Burns effect and Face Detection in your Slideshow.

There are a lot of video formats you can select from. The Output video format selection totally depends on your usage area. So If you wish to burn the slideshow on a DVD, go with Windows Standard format i.e. AVI.

Once the format is selected, you can set the aspect ration and video quality. The final output Video resolution is shown just below the quality settings. Select the file output destination on your local drive.

Photo Slideshow Preview

You can now have a quick preview of the final video. Now you can proceed towards the final step i.e. Create Photo Slideshow with Music. Click on the Make Slideshow button. You will again get the option to set video quality and save location. By default the settings will the the one that you have already configured in previous step.

Final Slideshow Rendering

Rendering of the slideshow takes some time. The time taken depends totally on the selected quality of video and additional effects. To process 31 photos with full quality and effects it took 14 Minutes on Core i7 3630.
