Create Your own Proxy Web server to access blocked websites

It is very common that the sites you like are blocked so to access them, you will probably use a proxy server. Proxy acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. So, how about building your own proxy server? Its quite easy with PHProxy to surf anonymously.

PHProxy is a web HTTP proxy programmed in PHP which allows you to access websites which are not accessible directly. This project weighs just 26kb  and doesn’t require any configuration settings to do. Just unzip the package and upload it your server. After uploading successfully, access the folder where you uploaded it and you will see a page as shown in screenshot:

It offers all the options like Strippping Title, accepting or rejecting cookies, include mini-URL,etc like every Proxy sites have. But advantage you get is that, relief from annoying pop-up ads. I just installed it on my Local server and works like charm.

A word of warning though. Most shared hosts prohibit installation of proxy scripts on your account.

Really! I tried it on Local server. If it is for personal use only then Local is best else go for Free Hosting because bandwidth will not be a problem

You can use it, only if you have a private or a virtual private server. Shared hosting won’t allow you to host a proxy script on their hosting..
