Enhance your Desktop using Rainmeter
I am not exaggerating when I say the desktop is the screen which we geeks stare at the whole day. Such a screen has to be special and offer all the information. Of course there are widgets, toolbars to enhance your desktop but nothing can beat Rainmeter when it comes to Desktop Enhancements.
Rainmeter is a desktop customization platform. Through Rainmeter, you can enhance your Windows computer at home or work with skins: handy, compact applets which float freely on your desktop, much like Windows 7 Sidebar Gadgets.
What adds to its appeal is, the Rainmeter skins are Open Source and can be created by anyone if you learn how Rainmeter works. Skins are similar to the Gadgets that you see on Sidebar.
You can download and customize the skins. A Popular site to download Rainmeter skins is Customize. Download it and place it in C://Program Files >Rainmeter > Skins. Execute Rainmeter and on the status bar, click on the icon. A Pop up menu will appear where the skins will show up. Check out which widgets you want and click on it.
