How To Restart Crashed Applications Automatically And Resume Download Tasks

Some applications can go wrong and close or crash on itself. If we are not present there to reopen them, task will remain incomplete so, here’s how you can employ software to monitor them constantly and restart program in case of crash.

Situation comes when applications need to be open for a long time like uTorrent or IDM when we leave computer on itself to complete download. Check out the Software listed below to resume the task in case of crashed application by reopening them automatically. Additionally, It is also possible to automate download timings using Auto-Connect Download Scheduler.

ProcessAlive

As the name says, it is a software to keep the process alive and restart in case it is stopped. Portable tool with one window interface where you have to press plus (+) symbol to add processes to monitor.

Process Alive

ProcessAlive continuously scans all the added programs from the system tray. If it notices that one of your selected processes is no longer running, it will re-launch the program.

Note should be taken that if you require that processes are launched with administrator rights, ProcessAlive must be run as an administrator too.

Download Process Alive

RestartMe

It is similar to above one but requires .NET Framework installed and not a portable one. Just add a Process to monitor and it will be re-opened in case of accidental exit or crash closing.

Restart Programs automatically after Crash

Application restarts within few seconds of closing and doesn’t require you to specify time interval to check if it crashed.

Download Restart Me

Application Monitor

Application Monitor is a light weight portable software which does what it name says. Single Window interface where you can add applications to keep watch (monitor). Time interval has to be set which defines the time period after which application should check if the monitored app is running or closed.

Restart Program after Crash

To Add application to monitor list. Click Browse and give location of installation directory (usually C:\Program Files).

Download Application Monitor

Not just crashed applications but if some window (not just application) gets closed accidentally, you can get it back with Gone in 60 seconds app. In case of Computer Shutdown, you can save your work and restore open windows on restart automatically with CacheMyWork.

Dear Rohit Langde:

First I want to with you many blessings for all the computer knowledge that you share. I wish you and your family, much love, good health and prosperity in a world of very hard economic times.

I sincerely would appreciate, if you could take the time and tell me what I can expect from this software. http://fspro.net/lock-pc/ “Lock My PC”. (I have sent repeated eamils to support with no reply). I have the software installed on my Windows 7 Home Premium, using Windows 32bit.

I am concerned that if I lock my PC, and shut down at the same time, I do not know what I can expect on boot up of my programs. (Will I see a icon, asking me for my password to unlock my pc, prior to my programs running).

My profession as a volunteer medical doctor I have fear of locking my self out of my PC.

My name is Dr. Hubert Hechabarria, Lic: D.G.P. 1394377 D.P.E. 8734
(12-1). Fed. Lic. 86-0651902. I have been a volunteer medical doctor
Since 1967 working in refugee camps world-wide (Majority war zones).
In my position I don’t have a personal credit card or bank account.
I returned from four years in Afghanistan and four years in Iraq.
Now I am in the interior of Panama, Republic of Panama working with Indigenous Indians, (KUNA YALA)
Sole doctor for over 32,000 Indians. (Recovering from a broken neck 6 &
7 vertebra, five broken ribs and over 1000 metal fragments sustained
from a rocket attack on my hospital in Iraq).
My Toshiba laptop was donated to me by Toshiba with Windows XP. And all
My software program was donated. Windows 7 Premium donated to me by my Chinese computer engineer here in Panama

I do not have a back up laptop, because my origianl Toshiba laptop was stolen here in Panama, and being foreign, the National Police of Panama, will not go the home or job of the person who stole my laptop, as I have a tracking device that traced the person who stole my laptop.

Many thanks in advance.

Warm regards,
Dr. Hubert Hechabarria

Yes, when the Laptop starts up, it will prompt you for password and you won’t be able to use programs till you enter correct password.
P.S. I haven’t tested it but as per the official web page says, it should work as I said above.

Dear Rohit Langde:

I sincerely thank you very much for taking the time to reply. (My primary language is Basque French. I speak Russian, Mandarin, Arabic and English. (English is the only language that I have trouble with grammar, plus understanding some text. (I have been around computers since IBM, and I was not able to understand 100% if I ueed Lock My PC software, would I lock my self out 100%.

My first four years of medical volunteer work was spent in India, then Africa, Navajo Nations reservations in the United States, Viet Nam, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. (Plus many more places with extreme poverty).

Still at the age of 73 my heart and soul is sad, because we live in a world of the very rich or very poor. (With fewer people now living middle class due to the world wide econmic turn down).

Plese know that I have utmost respect for you taking the time to donate your technical expertise to all the people of the world that have signed up to receive your blog.

Blessings,
Hubert

Dear Rohit:

I have used every Windows platform since Windows 95, and have been a beta tester for just about every anti virus, malware and spyware security. Also a beta tester for other programs that are not related to security. (I am a level 7 with over 36,000 points on “Yahoo Answers”, security & Psychiatry, have received the best answers).

In the past month I have tested digital stereo sound enhancement software. Tested “Sound PIMP:, from Oslo, Norway, SRS Audo Essentials & http://www.fxsound.com/dfx/ “DFX Audio Enhancer”.

If you enjoy muic like I do, being that I can not live or work in a world with out music, I recommend that you download the demo of DFX Audio Enhancer from http://www.fxsound.com/dfx/.

The demo., sound is free for life. (The sound that comes out of your speakers will make you feel like you are actually there in person listing to your music). (To pay for $29.99 just to open the demo, and you will only get to adjust the volume is a total waste of money, as you actually have the same sound with the demo., that is 100% free, no ads, spyware, virus, malware, etc. etc. Just free for life.

(You are also able to reduce “GUI”, from large to small. (Leave preset the defaults, because the software will recognize if you have spearks, or use headsets).

Best regards,
Hubert
PS: Just about impossible to find all the good websites in the world. I must say that you are exceptional in the ability to find the difficult good webpages with good software.

Dear Rohit:

I know that you translated for me, “Lock My PC”, on their webpage.

Having only one latop to perform all of my medical voluneer work, I decided to wait until I find a person running Windows 7 Home Premium who is willing to test the software after they lock and put in the pasword, to actually see if the GUI for “Lock My PC”, will actually load, and the correct pasword is typed in and then all their programs load.

To be quite honest your translation is 100% perfect, but I still can not take the chance until a person with Windows 7 Bit32 can test the software. (My work and my life depends on the one laptop).

Best regards,
HH
