Search and Watch Streaming Youtube Videos in Windows Media Center

Windows Media Center is one of the useful features included in Vista and Windows 7 but ignored by most of the users. If you find watching videos inconvenient in WMC, here is how you can extend it’s functionality a bit more with MacroTube. It allows you to Play Streaming Videos from various sites right inside Windows Media center.

Macro Tube is a small, freeware application that allows you to search and view dailymotion, youtube and soapbox videos on Windows Media Center. To get it work you need not go through tough settings, all you need to do is just download it and install. After installing it open Windows Media Center and go to “Extras” option and select Macrotube.

As you select macrotube you will get option to select the video source stream like Youtube. Once you make this selection you will get all categories and relevant tags to get the videos of your interest.

If you do not get the videos normally you can also make a search using the advance search option. Video viewing options will be same as the way followed on the streaming sites. When you take the mouse cursor over any video thumbnail it will show the video details like name, ratings etc. If you are connected to your TV for watching videos through WMC, you can also enjoy watching these videos on your big screen TV.
