Secure Delete Files and Recover Deleted Windows Files

Have you ever accidentally deleted important files and folders from windows? Well if you are using the recycle bin to delete data then you do not have to shed a sweat to get the data back. But if used method was “Shift + Delete” then you may be in trouble.

Earlier we covered Recuva, a small, free and very efficient utility to recover deleted files from windows. These freeware utilities can be used for recovering files that are freshly deleted or which are not over written by other files.

Undelete 360 is also a similar application for this task but with few additional and helpful features.

Undelete 360 is a freeware application for windows which can be used for two purposes i.e recovering deleted files and secure deleting files on system so that they can never be recovered.

Using this application is extremely easy. Only thing that you have to do is select a disk partition for scanning, any connected storage device can also be selected. Once you have selected the drive the search can be made. All deleted files will be shown with their status or health which specifies their condition.

You can also set filters for your search. Setting filters makes the search for deleted files narrower hence beneficial in case of people having large drive partitions. File size range, date and name can be used as filter parameters.

If you want to secure delete files you can select the number of passes in the deletion process. Increasing the number of passes means increased security of deletion but may consume greater time depending on the file size.
