Turn off Laptop LCD Screen in one click instantly on Windows 7, Vista

You cannot always close the Laptop Lid to turn off Display screen of Laptop, like while you are listening to music. It is possible to configure time after which LCD screen will turn off but what if you want it to be instant. Turn Off LCD is a small energy saver utility to turn off Laptop LCD screen in one click instantly.

Taimur Asad has developed this small utility to turn off Laptop screen in one click when not in need. It can be while listening music or when your Laptop is connected to Projector to save Energy and Laptop Battery Life. you dont need an app to do this . the function keys that come with allmost all the laptop will do this. In my lenovo it is lenovo function key + F3(this is os independent). Check the laptop manual

    Got no problem to run it on windows XP and Win7 home edition.. would it be possible that it does not work on WINDOWS 7 professional ? (great app btw)

    It’s not working on Windows 8.Please help if anyone knows any other trick to Turn off screen anything besides the Keyboard combination Fn+F#.

There is a bug here! When connected to external display it cut’s that one as well. On my Dell M4400 it shuts off HDMI as well.That is a bit stupid when running something on the HDMI port You wan’t to see and just want’s to cut the light from the lcd panel.

this cut the signal to LCD. I want to know, weather it reduce the power consumtion or not? Is it possible to cut the poower suply of LCD. It will reduce the battery consumption dramatically.
