Enable Windows Installer Services and Uninstall software in Safe Mode
Safe mode is useful for troubleshooting problems with programs and drivers that do not start correctly or that could prevent proper working of Windows. In Safe Mode, Windows starts with a limited group of files and drivers which are essential for Windows booting and one of them is Windows installer which doesn’t start in Safe mode.
In absence of Windows Installer service, you cannot uninstall any Programs or Features which you suspect to be creating problems. In this case, a small portable teak comes to rescue which enables Windows Installer Services in Safe Mode. Then, you can uninstall any Software installed already on Windows.
When you try to uninstall any software, pop-up window reads “Windows Installer could not be accessed”
Execute SafeMSI.exe (a registry tweak) by double clicking it and now you can uninstall any program from Windows XP, 2000, Vista and Windows 7 in Safe Mode.
