Online Hard Drive with Unlimited Data Storage

Virtual Hard Drive means web space on which you can store your files online. This is useful for taking backup safely and facilitates you to access them virtually anywhere similat to Microsoft SkyDrive. One feature that characterizes virtual drives is storage facility in cloud. Here we’ll see FileBox a virtual hard drive with unlimited storage in its paid version that allows up to 488 GB for the free version.

Among the options offered to us in its free version have some limitations that may be uncomfortable. At most we can download 100 files per day, so if you have a lot of file movement who do not occupy much smaller size, but for a normal user would be enough to this limit. Another issue is the limit of 1 Mbps of download the free account limits us, but for users (with slow connectivity) like me its more than enough.

Uploading

One thing which you may not like is Uploading system which is conventional file loader or boot Flash which allows you to upload one file at a time. So, No multiple file support is there however, In addition the indication of estimated time for completion of the loading of files which is very useful.

Sharing

In respect of options to share files, once uploaded the files to the virtual hard disk generates a URL that we send people with whom we share documents, One for download, a link for forums, a direct link or even a link to delete the uploaded document. Sharing is more easy with these web services to send and share large files

Other Features

Other interesting options is the possibility of creating photo albums where we can add the photos you’ve uploaded to FileBox, our virtual hard disk so that we have a similar look to what can be a quick start slide browsers like Safari, Chrome or Opera, clear that only in appearance. They are gradually add thumbnails of our photos to the album created. Also, As with the album We can create music playlists with our favorite songs we have uploaded to our virtual hard disk.

My Verdict

Visually, the service seems just as attractive. Especially with the options and video gallery photo gallery with all the thumbnails displayed which is very pleasing when selecting both the videos and photos we uploaded to our virtual hard disk.

I’m guessing this is a new site?

Have uploaded a few files out of interest to see how good they are!

Must say site seems to have ‘teething’ problems. Not all my uploads worked first time.

Yeah, this is a newly launched service. Do you mean that you were unable to share or download back the uploaded file?

Files on the free account have a one year validity, after which I presume they are deleted unless you keep the original file on your computer, and re-upload.

It would appear that if you upload video files they are converted to flash?

Good luck with your site Rohit, from a ‘dottechie’

It seems you have inspected it quite keenly. Videos may be getting converted to FLV because it’s Video Gallery may be supporting same format. Well, using 7zip one can zip the folders and upload in a batch for back up. Using ZIP, there will be no video conversion problems.

Regarding File expiry, Free member’s files expire 365 days after the last download of that file. It means downloading once in a year would increase validity by one year.

Lastly, You have to agree with some limitations of Free account because they are also here for business 😛

I don’t know what to say because they don’t have any policy saying that they wont be able to delete your files if they want to or cancel your account so i will better stay with my backup software and service called http://www.dmailer.com/dmailer-backup.html . Their backup software is free and i can use it for many things and their online storage is also free but only up to 3gb .
