Create Bootable USB Pendrives

pen-drive-bootable1Ever want to make a bootable pendrive which starts as our computer starts. HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool is a free utility This utility will format any USB flash drive, with your choice of FAT, FAT32, or NTFS partition types and create volumes of larger than 32GB. You can make it bootable by selecting file location.

Utility interface is made very easy so that it can handled easily by less experienced users. Only need to select the correct device, then the file system, the volume label, format and method (quick, compressed, bootable). Copy three system boot files from the root of your hard drive (usually c:\) — boot.ini, ntldr, and ntdetect — to the flash drive. Then set your BIOS to allow booting from the flash drive.

Most important things are – It is Freeware and very light weight (only 2MB setup) and its and excellent tool for those who use USb Pendrives for daily use.

Sadly, this has never ever worked for me. Every attempt I’ve made to boot from a USB has crashed!
