We always try to find most effective ways of working on Computer, here’s a alternative for Windows Explorer. Explorer++ is a productive utility to browse files and folders with lots of handy features. Tabbed interface is the most impressive feature I liked about this utility.

Not just tabbed file explorer but also, it comes with Bookmarking feature which helps in quick access. File selection has dedicated Menu bar which makes it easy for file selection. Moreover, colors for Encrypted and Compression files can be customized. Other options included are File Filter and Search. Possibility to open folders in New tab in context menu and replace with default Windows Explorer. Memory consumption is around 10MB on my system which is same as Windows Explorer.

Thumbnail view for Images and Videos is okay but in Windows 7, Large icon display doesn’t work. Overall performance is fine and personally, I am currently using as a replacement for default Windows Explorer.

So far, this is the best stable way to get tabs in Windows Explorer on Windows 7. I’ve had mixed results on different Windows 7 machines with QT TabBar, but Explorer++ has been rock solid for me so far.
