How to connect Micromax Q7 to WLAN / WiFi spot

Micromax Q7 is one of the popular mobile from recent weeks only because of the its value added features at absolutely lower price including Dual SIM, 2 MP Web cam, GPRS connectivity and more special Wi-Fi connectivity. Here I will explain you step by step procedure to connect with broadband wi-Fi spot.

Connect Micromax Q7 with Broadband Wi-fi (without WEP security)

It follows very simple steps ,to get connected with the Wifi when there is no security on,as:

Step 1: Goto -Menu>>Connectivity>>Wi-Fi>>Enable Wi-Fi

Step 2: Goto -Menu>>Connectivity>>Wi-Fi>>Search for networks

If the respective wi-fi network is on or is within the standard range you will see its name after clicking on Search for networks. Lets assume that the name of wi-fi network is “Blogsolute”. Here you have to connect it as

Step 3: Goto -Menu>>Connectivity>>Wi-Fi>>Search for networks>>Blogsolute>connect

The setting page will get opened, Do nothing here keep the settings as it is and click on Done, save it & activate the network.

Connect Micromax Q7 with Broadband Wi-fi (with WEP security key)

To keep your wi-fi network safe from strangers , I will personally recommend you to have the WEP security key to avoid further data usage. Let us assume your BSNL wi-fi network name is ”Blogsolute” and its WEP password is “1234567”

Follow the 2 step as in case of the No security mentioned earlier.

Step 3: Go to -Menu>>Connectivity>>Wi-Fi>>Search for networks>>Blogsolute>connect

The setting page will get opened, here you have to adjust setting as,

1. WEP key setting >> edit
WEP key in use- #1
WEP encryption- 64bits
WEP Format- Hex
WEP key- 123456  (your wi-fi password)
press back

2.Connection name  : Blogsolute  (It can be anything but don’t edit)

3.SSID  :  Blogsolute (It can be anything but don’t edit)

4.Network type : Infrastructure

5.Security Mode: Open Network

6. Encryption   Mode : WEP

7.TCP/IP setting : Don’t edit

click on Done ,save it & activate the network.

Step 4: Goto -Menu>>Connectivity>>Wi-Fi>>Paired network>>Blogsolute>>connect

Now you will be able to access the Wifi Internet.

    noor, asof now yuotube video streaming is not possible with youtube JAR application software however you can download those videos and can watch it! have a fun

    HI Unmesh , you may try these settings:

    In Step 3: & sub step 5″.Security Mode”: click on “WPA/WPA2 PSK” instead of “Open network”. Repeat all the steps again n your problem shall get solved.

      Hi Nitin, I have followed all the steps mentioned below.

      1. WEP key setting >> edit

      WEP key- (Except this, I don’t know how to get this. I use BSNL brodband, Type 2 modem) Kindly advise me how to get this.

        Simple settings friend, i am using wifi in Micromax Q7.

        step 1: Check whether ur WIFI connection is Activated.

        Now this is interesting, i’ve been searching all the www to find it. But i found a simple change by myself.

        Step 2: Goto Connectivity>WAP>Settings>Profiles>

        Check “WLAN” on both sim1 & sim2 and activate.

        Simple isn’t it.

        Enjoy wifi now.

hii nitin , my q7 was connected after applying these setting but yet my mini opera is not oipening and neither facebook , pls help me out and also tell if orkut could work on q7 ..

    If you are unable to open it through opera mini means your wifi is not configured well. Now do one thing, go through the above post again re-edit settings as mentioned in Step 3 and do tell me if you press “Activate” whether it get activated or any error?

hey nitin, thanks a lot fr ur guidance ! bt there s a glitch ! i followed all th steps, got connected once.. and whn i am entering th same wep key again, it aint accepting it ! is thr any way to delete th previous setting (tried the “delete” option in paired network, and also rebooted th whole thing) please reply ..

    Hi Ritu , Glad to know that this article helped you. If you are connecting for First time then Search the netowrk (As metioned in step 3), after that always goto>>Paired netowrk and activate it from there…..

nah ! i tried evrything.. its absolutely nt gtng activated ! i guess thrs some problem with wep key ! is it somethin like a passwrd ? i m pretty sure of th passwrd, bt somehow thrs no other explanation fr it nt gtng connected except my entering a wrong passwrd !

    without WEP KEY u r not able to connect any nework within your range. because wi fi is posward protected.if u know posward then u r able to connect wi-fi

mr.nitin you are mastered in q7 it seems, for me no downloading is possible always receive message “error fetching file”. then i have a aircel pocket internet card is this enough to connect wifi or a broadband is necessary.
