Open and Preview PDF, PPT and Office documents in Chrome Browser

Google Chrome is indeed a fastest browser you will have ever experienced. Many a times, we want to view PDF documents and PowerPoint presentations or any other Office documents but it firsts download and then open with the default program. What if we want to preview documents directly on browser without downloading directly on Web Browser.

So, there is an extension by Google itself called Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer which preview documents like PDF and PPT directly on browser by redirecting to Google Docs. And if you don’t know- Let me tell you that you don’t need to have a Google account anymore to access Google Docs.

When I say Google docs, it means, Document of almost any extension is supported like PPT, DOC, PDF and all those supported by  Google Docs native.

It is no doubt a tie saver extension which can be implemented anywhere and you don’t have to waste time in downloading it and then opening it. In case, you don’t want to preview it anymore and download it for later use then right click on the link to download it.

Unfortunately, Google Docs viewer does not support all formats supported by Google Docs (like .XLS). It supports only .pdf,.doc,.docx and .ppt at this moment.

I’ve developed gPDF, a similar add-on for Chrome, Firefox, Opera etc. – even before the Google’s extension. Try it here:
